Roof Rejuvenation in Virginia
GoNano nano coating treatments for asphalt shingle roofs across the Roanoke Valley and central Virginia.
Roof rejuvenation is a treatment that restores the oils and protective compounds that asphalt shingles lose over time due to sun, heat, and weather. A GoNano nano coating (a treatment with particles small enough to bond directly to the shingle surface) is applied to the roof in a single visit. The result is shingles that are more flexible, more water-resistant, and better protected against UV and biological growth, extending the roof's useful life by 5 to 15 years.
What roof rejuvenation actually is
Asphalt shingles are made with a blend of asphalt, oils, and granules. Over time, UV radiation and heat bake out the oils that keep shingles flexible. Once those oils are gone, shingles become brittle, crack, curl, and lose their water-shedding ability.
Roof rejuvenation replaces what the sun takes away. A GoNano treatment delivers a biobased oil-rich formulation directly into the shingle material through nano-sized particles, restoring flexibility and sealing the shingle surface. Think of it like conditioning leather that has dried out: you are not replacing the material, you are restoring what made it work.
The coating also adds a layer of protection against moisture intrusion, algae growth, and UV damage going forward. One treatment, done right, can extend a roof's life by 5 to 15 years.
How the process works
The application process is straightforward. After a free inspection to confirm your roof qualifies, we schedule the treatment. Most residential roofs are completed in a single day.
- 1 Free inspection. We assess shingle condition, age, and structure. If rejuvenation is not the right call, we tell you directly.
- 2 Roof preparation. We clear debris and address any surface issues before applying the coating.
- 3 GoNano application. We apply the appropriate GoNano product using professional equipment. The coating saturates the shingle surface and bonds at the nano level.
- 4 Cure and walkthrough. The coating cures within hours. We walk you through what was done and what to expect.
Who is roof rejuvenation right for?
The best candidates are homeowners with asphalt shingle roofs between 7 and 20 years old that are structurally sound but showing signs of age: fading color, mild granule loss, or early brittleness. Roofs in that range have lost enough oil to benefit from treatment while still having the structural integrity to hold the coating.
Newer roofs (under 7 years) can also benefit from a protective treatment, particularly in Virginia's humid summers. Roofs over 20 years are assessed individually: some qualify, others do not.

Common questions about roof rejuvenation
- GoNano treatments are rated to last 10 to 15 years depending on the product applied. Your roof's age and condition at the time of treatment affect the outcome, which is why we inspect before recommending a specific product.
- GoNano products are designed for asphalt shingles, which are the most common roofing material in Virginia. They are not formulated for metal roofing, tile, or wood shakes. If you are unsure what type of shingles you have, we can tell you during the free inspection.
- Yes. GoNano coatings are water-based and biobased. There is no solvent runoff and no need to cover your landscaping or keep pets inside. We do ask that people and animals stay off the roof itself during application and until the coating cures, which typically takes a few hours.
- No. Roof rejuvenation is not a repair product. It is a protective and restorative treatment for structurally sound shingles. If your roof is actively leaking or has damaged, cracked, or missing shingles, those issues need to be repaired first. We will note any concerns during the inspection.
